Mission
Statement:
Galerie
Protégé exists as a platform for emerging and non-represented
artists to exhibit their work in the heart of New York City’s
Chelsea gallery district. Located on the lower level of Chelsea
Frames, an established conservation framing studio, Galerie Protégé
is dedicated to exhibiting contemporary works of art in a wide range
of media including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography
and performance-based work.
Founded in the spring of 2011 by Jaclyn Acker and Debra Kowalski,
Galerie Protégé was born of a mutual desire to offer emerging and
non-represented artists an opportunity to make their mark on the New
York City art world -- an opportunity that was similarly extended to
them by their friend and mentor Daniel Beauchemin who helped them
find their niche in the big city.
